Potential for Acid Mine Drainage Sludge to Control Soluble Phosphorus Losses from Containerized Nurseries.

Carmen Borsa and Louis M. McDonald. Plant & Soil Sciences, West Virginia University, PO Box 6108, Morgantown, WV 26506

Runoff from containerized nursery operations could be an important source of phosphorus in many freshwater stream systems. A system is tested whereby a filter of acid mine drainage sludge is positioned to sorb soluble phosphorus before it can be lost to the environment.
