Virtual Profiles – Generating diagrams of soils from written profile descriptions.

A computer application designed to generate diagrams of soil profiles from written descriptions will be described and demonstrated. Students click on a soil delineation in a geographic information system (GIS), which then brings up a window displaying a diagram of the dominant soil in the delineation along with other information.
