Late Season Aerification and Topdressing Effects on Cynodon dactylon Spring Green-up.

Paul B. Woosley, Agriculture, Western Kentucky University, 1906 College Heights Blvd. #41066, Bowling Green, KY 42101-1066

‘Quickstand’ bermudagrass was aerified during late September of 2006.  Three different aerification types were used.  Some plots received a topdressing treatment of sand.  Aerification types were solid tines, coring tines, and linear aerification.  Turf quality, spring green-up, and percent weed coverage data were collected.  There were significant differences in these observations among treatments.  These differences will be discussed.
