Qingzhang Xu, Paul Loida, Jeff Ahrens, Kim Zobrist, Tim Leland, and Xiaoyun Wu. Monsanto Company, 700 Chesterfield Parkway W., Chesterfield, MO 63017-1732

Corn seeds are not dormant when it is tested under normal condition. However, as a survival strategy of plants, wild-corn seeds are still dormant when they are mature. This kind of dormancy can help wild corn seeds to survive through cold winter. The objective of this experiment is to test if there is still some kind of dormancy in modern corn. Data will be available before the ASA Meetings.
