Effects of Biological Innoculant on Thatch Quality of Golf Course Greens.

Lee West, Novozymes Biologicals, 5400 Corporate Circle, Salem, VA 24153

Thatch has been identified as a problem with many types of golf course greens. This test looks at the effects of a biological/enzyme innoculation with cellulase and amalase producing bacteria in addition to endo and exo cellulases in an attempt to ameliorate negative effects of excessive thatch accumulation. Turf Quality, infiltration and turf surface integrity will be measured through the course of the season.
