Teaching Large Class Sizes – Opportunities and Challenges.

Student centered learning and active learning are effective methods of teaching. There are numerous studies that clearly show that the use of these methods of instruction enhance student learning, increase retention and application of the material as well as promote continuous learning. Although these are undeniably effective methods of instruction, they are difficult to carry out in large classes. This group discussion will focus on the challenges faced when using active learning techniques in large classes.
