Testifying in depositions and court proceedings under penalty for failure to attend is often very stressful and can compromise professional relationships and friendships. Example cases involving 1) a turfgrass-sod producer and a turfgrass seed supplier; 2) greens damage resulting from a contaminated pesticide; 3) a golf course owner and greens vandalism; and 4) a turfgrass-sod producer and an insurance company representative will be discussed in an effort to demonstrate specific challenges and difficulties associated with a specialist's involvement in in-state litigation.
