Effect of Planting Date on Rice Grown in Missouri.

Donn H. Beighley and Indi Braden. Southeast Missouri State University, Crisp Bootheel Education Center, 700 N Douglass St., Malden, MO 63863

Preliminary data indicates that rice planted on March 15th does not increase yields over planting between early April and early May. The problem is due to cool - unpredictable environmental conditions at the March date. The data indicates that the planting period resulting in the highest yields is the early April planting date.
