Established in 1995, the Crop Observation and Recommendation Network (C.O.R.N.) has been a very successful method of delivering rapid, valuable, timely agronomic crops information. From a weekly conference call, Extension Agents and State Specialists from Plant Pathology, Crop Science, Entomology, Ag Engineering and Farm Management, determine immediate agronomic issues and develop a web based and emailed newsletter - usually delivered in the same 24 hour period.

In 2004 the web page http://agcrops.osu.edu was added as an additional method to deliver archived newsletters as well as state specialists information. On-farm research reports, links to markets and weather as well as the current issue of the C.O.R.N. newsletter make the Agronomic Crops Team's web page a must see for practicing agronomists.

From recent surveys, the C.O.R.N. newsletter has saved Ohio growers $1.6 million per year. Recent developments on the webpage make broader information more available and further improve the growers bottom line.
