Reduced Engine Wear Rates Using Canola Based Biodiesel.

Skip Munshaw, Saskatchewan Agriculture & Food, Univ of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3P4, Canada

The use of low sulfur content diesel fuels have shown an appreciable increase in the wear rates of diesel injection pumps. The use of canola oil derivatives have shown to significantly reduce diesel injection pump and diesel engine wear rates. This paper will discuss results of this research conducted at the University of Saskatchewan.
