Adequate placement of controlled release fertilizers (CRF) will increase potato uptake efficiency of N reducing at the same time the risk of nitrate leaching and/or runoff. A study consisting of three N-rates (112, 168, and 224 kg ha-1) and four fertilizer placements was established under a factorial design. Water samples taken with lysimeters installed at three depths (25, 40, and 55 cm) in each plot were collected biweekly. Analysis of variance and geostatistical representation of nitrate concentrations were done.
