Michael Vepraskas, North Carolina State University, Department of Soil Science, Box 7619, Raleigh, NC 27695-7619, Darrell Schulze, Purdue University-Agronomy Dept., Purdue Univ.-Agronomy Dept., 915 W State Street, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2054, and Xiaodong Gao, Dept. of Soil, Water, and Environmental Science, The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721.

Water moves through landscapes from recharge to discharge areas.  Mineral components are general leached from recharge areas and accumulate in discharge areas.  The major minerals found in discharge areas will be reviewed, and will include Fe oxides, Mn oxides, salts, and carbonates.
