The amino sugar-N test (ASNT)has shown potential for predicting in season N needs for corn and wheat. This test measures amino sugar-N (ASN) which is correlated to crop N uptake. As with any soil nutrient test its ability to predict plant nutrient availability over the growing season depends on the behavior of the nutrient over time. The objective of this study was to assess the variability in ASNT values over time for a wheat-soybean-corn rotation in the humid southeast. This study was conducted on ten sites over the course of a complete cropping cycle.
