Needs Assessment of Indiana's Septic System Program.

The purpose of this paper is to describe Indiana's septic system program and the educational needs of the county regulatory entities responsible for permitting septic systems. Environmental health specialists in 92 county health departments will be surveyed to determine their educational needs, availability of resources and training opportunities used to help manage their county septic system program. A summary of the results as well as the disparity between county septic system programs will be discussed.
