Meeting the Need for Biodiesel.

John Becherer, United Soybean Board, 16640 Chesterfield Grove Rd., Suite 130, Chesterfield, MO 63005-1429

John Becherer serves as Chief Executive Officer of the United Soybean Board (USB), which administers the soybean checkoff program in the United States. U.S. soybean farmers, through the soybean checkoff at the state and national levels, have made major research and promotion investments over the last 20 years that have led to the growth and development of the U.S. Biodiesel industry. Becherer will address the major issues facing the U.S. Biodiesel industry and U.S. soybean farmers, as they continue to fund most of the research and promotion of Biodiesel conducted in the United States. Issues such as availability, blending, processing, Biodiesel industry expansion, quality, and the development of new soybean varieties with enhanced compositional traits will all shape the short and long term future of Biodiesel in the United States.
